Teaching a song

A teacher shares her experience on teaching a song.


She used this song--Because You Loved Me, sung by Celine Dion--
to help her students in Basic classes learn Simple Past Tense.

First, she asked them to listen to this song.
Then, she distributed the lyric with some blanks that the students had to fill in with the correct Simple Past verb forms.

And at the same time, she played the song once again.


After finishing the task, students and she checked the work together.
And the result is that students got a better idea of using Simple Past Tense and the reason(s) for using that tense.



The other important result is....they enjoyed the English learning process.
